The newest partner in the firm, Cindy, does the heavy lifting of the business taxes as well as the attest work. Cindy was a bookkeeper for almost 30 years before making the leap to CPA in 2015, making her examination of a trial balance practically an instinct at this point. Cindy is a true Alaskan momma-bear with a grown paramedic son and a daughter in high school, who after braving the winters of Fairbanks for many years made her way to Anchorage to join our team in 2017.
Bruce has forgotten more about taxes than most people will ever learn is common parlance around the office. After his time with Army Intelligence during the Vietnam war, Bruce found accounting on the east coast but eventually made his way to Alaska. With over 40 years as an Alaskan CPA and a consistent thirst for learning and improvement, Bruce keeps our technical quality reliable and elevated.
Attempting to escape tax season, Jasmine joined the team in 2017 in an administrative role but was convinced to step back into accounting. She handles the lion’s share of the individual returns from her home office, surrounded by the noise of three young daughters. Jasmine is also our resident English Major, writing or reviewing most of our communications and letters.
Third generation Commercial Fisherwoman, Jennifer is currently pursuing her accounting degree at UAF, raising a rambunctious little man, and transforming our bookkeeping department. Jennifer, or Jen, is our triage accountant, resuscitating our multi-year projects and helping clients whose books need major transformation to function properly.
Barbara was the small but mighty leader of our admin department for several years while she was pursuing her multiple higher education degrees. Now she still finds time to come in and add her expertise to our IRS representation as well as help during our busy deadline days, while working full-time at local non-profit Native Movement and pursuing her many volunteering endeavors and hobbies.
After a few years in the lower 48, Angie returned to her birthplace in Alaska to be closer to her family. Currently in pursuit of her IT degree Angie has become our IT liaison as well as handling the end product processing and billing side of our admin department. Sometimes accompanied to the office by her goldendoodle, Zelda, Angie’s bright hair and smile is often the first encounter you will have in our office.
A new transplant to Alaska, Kyla was raised in the Philippines. She brought with her a zest for life and a love for the problem solving of accounting. She appreciates the fresh air here and plans to stay because it makes vacations outside more enjoyable! While working on her accounting degree at UAA, Kyla has streamlined the intake process and started cross- training to broaden her knowledge base, and she still makes time to make a morning Rumble class.
